About Us

Wednesday Media is a specialist content and web usability consultancy. We help companies produce intuitive websites and applications by researching what their users want and then tailoring the design to suit them.

We can help you develop a comprehensive strategy for your online communications, whether you need advice about content layout, a more user-friendly interface, or an improved information architecture for your website.

Ever worn clothes that just didn't fit?

Building a system without testing its usability is a little like sewing a custom-made suit without taking any measurements from the customer.

We believe the best way to build a site your customers will love is by getting them involved in the design process. So we test your websites and applications with your customers to ensure they can use it, saving you money and time by preventing expensive redevelopment further down the track.

A usable website ensures that your customers have a positive and stress-free experience when they deal with your organisation online. It makes it easy for your customers to achieve their goals on the site without the site itself becoming an obstacle.

What's with the name?

Originally Wednesday was known as Woden’s Day, named after a Viking god who lived in mythical times long before the written word. Woden wasn’t the kind of guy to take the easy road. He believed his suffering would lead to wisdom, so he hung himself from a tree and stabbed himself with his own spear.

As luck would have it, Woden’s gamble paid off. After nine days and nine nights in the tree, he noticed a pile of rune stones in a stream beneath him. When he reached down and grabbed the stones he realised that the symbols carved into them had meaning, and he could read. Woden was able to bestow the power of the written word onto humanity by translating the rune stones, one of the earliest forms of written communication, and he eventually became the Viking’s god of writing.
